According to sources, 5-10% of preschoolers and 25% of school-aged children have vision problems that are curable if fought off at a young age. How do you determine if your child needs an eye exam? Children should have their first eye exam between the ages of 3-5. Children above the age of 5 should have an eye exam before the beginning of every school year. Studies have shown that many children develop a lazy eye at a young age, which can be cured with treatment.
