The Truth about Blue Light Protection (Filter) | Reduces Digital Eye Strain

Blue light disrupts production of melatonin which in turn delays the natural sleep pattern.

Blue light is also known as HEV (high energy visible) and is everywhere. The following emit significant amounts of blue light:

  • Sun rays

  • Computers

  • Electric devices

  • Smart books

  • Smartphones

Amount of time people spend using these devices and proximity of these screens to the users face can cause long term effects on eye health.

The human eye is not good at blocking blue light. Virtually all blue light passes through the cornea to the retina, and it may increase risk for macular degeneration.

Signs of digital eye strain
